Condolences to family and friends
Worked with Gene at the Upper Canada mine. We blew out a chute and it was a bit of a cleanup. Gene was always good for a joke and a prank. Rest in peace partner.
With great sorrow the family announces the sudden passing of Eugene “Gene” Duguay at the Englehart site of Blanche River Health on Monday November 7 th , 2022, at the age of 77.
Born in Matachewan Ontario, on October 8 th , 1945 to the late Alphonse and Lumina (nee Duhamel) Duguay. Gene was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Lumina, his sisters Claire, Anita, Georgette and Lumina Jr, his brother Noel.
He will be truly missed by his wife Nicolle and sidekick Marley. He leaves behind his loved children Eugene Jr. “Gino” (Tammy), Crystal (Darren), Gilles (Stephanie), his brother Alphonse Jr. “Bud” (Shirley),
seven grandchildren, Brett, Brittany (Jake), Jayden, Ocean, Emily, Nathan and Dalton, as well as two great-grandchildren Liam and Maisie. Also leaves in grief his nieces, Claire, Elizabeth (Jim) and Joann (Mike), his nephew Nelson (Laura), close childhood friend Rolly (June) and many other family and friends.
Eugene was a miner all his working career, which brought him from Quebec to B.C. and everywhere in between. He was full of energy, always puttering, building or inventing some masterpiece. He was
known as the man who liked to brighten his world with many lights and was the master of bling. He loved the outdoors with fishing and boating. Gene was passionate about music and always had music
playing. Respecting his wishes, there will not be a service. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. Donations in Gene’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
