Newman, Ernest Charles It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Ernie Newman on Wednesday April 13th, 2016 at the age of 85. Born in Toronto on March 4th, 1931 to Ernie Newman and Ellen Warner, Ernie grew up in Toronto Ontario and worked there as a young man. This is where he met Jo-Anne, his wife of 60 years. They moved to New Liskeard in 1968 where they raised their family of five. Ernie was an avid gardener and grounds keeper making sure his lawns were done to perfection. He loved bowling and a good game of cards with his friends whether it be Euchre, Poker, or Hand and Foot. Always a gentleman, Ernie would make sure you felt comfortable in his home, whistling down the hall and greeting you at the door with a smile on his face. Left to mourn is his beloved wife Jo-Anne, his loving children Sharon and her husband Paul Jackson of Naughton, Ron Newman and his partner Beth Peever of Tomstown, Lynn and her husband Kevin Arsenault of North Bay, Steven Newman and his wife Gloria of Etobicoke, and Patricia and her husband Michael Rennie of Cochrane. He is also survived by Grandchildren, Sarah, Melanie, Terri-Lynn, James, Adam, Joshua, Matthew, Dustin, Sarah-Lynn, Ashley and Great Grandchildren Joshaua, Javin, Emily, Zoe, Wynter, Alyssa, Evelynne and Alexander. Also left to mourn is his brother Dennis Newman and family. The family will receive friends at the Perrin Funeral Chapel on April 16th, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. If desired donations to the Temiskaming Diabetes Program will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
