Elizabeth "Betty" Beaupre Elizabeth "Betty" Beaupre died at the Nipissing Manor in North Bay on November 7, 2009, at the age of 81. She was born in New Liskeard to Lawrence and Maude Ada Bateson. She was the loving mother of, and is sadly missed by, her children Thomas Haddow of Blind River, Linda Bowes (Dan) of Milton, Deborah Vas of Goulais River, Ted Haddow (Claudine) of Waterloo, Sandra Owl (William) of Cutler, Ontario, and Peter Haddow (Colleen) of North Bay; sister Helen Kidd and brother-in-law Marcel Brazeau, both of New Liskeard; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Faye Laura and sisters Lorna Brazeau (Armand) and Mildred Brazeau (Marcel). Mrs. Beaupre was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother and supportive mother-in-law and aunt. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her deep interest in the news of the world and her wonderful long letters. A memorial service was held on November 14 at St. Paul's United Church in New Liskeard, officiated by Reverend Micol Cottrell. A wonderful eulogy was delivered by her daughter Linda Bowes and a poem was read by her son Peter Haddow. As per her wish, Mrs. Beaupre is buried with her mother Maude at the New Liskeard Cemetery.
