1932 - 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announced the passing of Jean (Trueman Bullied) DeYoung, loving wife of Ron DeYoung on December 30, 2023 at the age of 91 after a short stay at Extendicare, Kirkland Lake. Jean was born in Saint Catherine’s on July 16, 1932 to Edward and Marion Trueman both predeceased. Jean is survived by her daughters, Carole Patterson, Suzanne Bullied her sons, Jim Bullied and Steve Bullied as well as her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In her younger years, Jean was an avid baseball player with Sunnyside baseball team and made her mark in many newspapers for her pitching abilities. She was also a very active member of the Encore Club of Kirkland Lake, where she enjoyed doing karaoke on Saturday nights with her many friends. She also served as a trustee on the board of directors for many years. Memorial donations can be made to the encore club of Kirkland Lake, 32 Second St., East, Kirkland Lake, Ontario, P2N 1R1. Thank you to the staff at Extendicare Kirkland Lake for their dedication and compassionate care during her short stay.

In keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has been arranged with Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative and a celebration of life will be held in the spring with her mother, Marion Trueman.

Ron DeYoung & Family,

I am so sorry for your loss of such a loving wife and mother. Jean was a perfect Lady. I loved sitting with her and chatting when we played floor shuffle board, or wherever we happened to meet. Rest in Peace dear Jean.
