Pardy, Edward "Max"

PARDY, Edward "Max"

1948 - 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Max Pardy announces his passing.

Edward M. Pardy, age 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at his home in Larder Lake, ON.

He was born September 17, 1948, in St. John’s NFLD to Albert and Ellen “Nellie” (Moulton) Pardy.

He was a graduate of the College of Fisheries Shipbuilding program in Nova Scotia. He married Annie Chipp on March 20, 1971, in Deer Lake, NFLD.

He was a jack of all trades, boat builder, fisherman, miner, and carpenter. Max truly loved life to the fullest through the simple pleasures:

Chatting with friends and family, spending time in his garage, enjoying the boats he built cruising on Larder Lake, and yes picking up a piece of wood and smelling it.

He was predeceased by his father Albert in 1981, his mother Ellen in 1998, and his sister Elizabeth Rumbolt in 1984. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Annie; two daughters Norma (Roger) Mansfield and Jennifer; his sister Catherine (Chesley) Clarke of Corner Brook, NFLD; Grandchildren Laura and Ryan and 4 great-grandchildren Hayden, Charlotte, Malcolm, and Dexter, and a large circle of family and friends.

A celebration of life will be celebrated at a later time due to COVID.

Please feel free to share expressions of memories below for the family to view.

So sorry ! I have been praying for him since Roger mentioned the illness. I can see from his photo quite a bit that tells about his vibrant and pleasant character.

Sending love and prayers to you all! Hurts my heart that I didn’t know uncle Max very well but like you all he holds a special place in our hearts and I’m sorry that due to the way life has gone we didn’t get any memories I wish we had! I pray that you all hold onto those good times and don’t forget how much he loved you all! He’s looking down so proud, honoured and blessed to have you all! Sending lots of love from Middle Arm, Newfoundland.

The Pardy Family

Just came across this obituary and was saddened to hear of Max's passing. I only knew him for a short time through the Larder Lake bunch and meeting him for the first time at my brother Bill's celebration of life at the Larder lake Legion. My first impression was that he was a humble, kind man who loved his family dearly. May your Dory take you with God's speed while the rest of us wait behind with all the great memories you have left us with.
RIP Max
