DORIS RATHWELL,

Passed away peacefully at the Teck Pioneer Residence on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Doris enjoyed the company of her family and could not imagine any of her “kids” staying at a motel. Her cooking skills were only surpassed by her story telling abilities; Aunt Doris’ family will always treasure the memories which she took the time to share with them. Having been blessed with a full and happy life, Aunt Doris has been predeceased by most of her immediate relatives: parents, Winnifred (Rogan) and Herbert Gibson; husband, George; son, Dr. Andrew Rathwell of Kanata; sister, Blanche (Clarence Featherstone) of Danford Lake, Quebec; and brother, Russell (Selma) Gibson of Arnprior, Ontario. She is survived by and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A traditional funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON, P2N 3L1) with Pastor Rob Slote officiating.
