CARTER – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorine Rita Carter (née Danis) on Monday, January 18, 2016. Surrounded by her loving family, Dorine passed away peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Southampton, Ontario. Dorine was born in Kirkland Lake on February 8, 1951 to Nellie and the late Alcide Danis. She was the loving wife and soulmate of the late Jimmy Carter; beloved mother of Daniel Boire (Tracey), Sylvia Strickland (Tim) and Christopher Boire (Sandra); proud Oma of Jesse (Megan), Brooke-Lynne, Matthew (Hannah), Chase, Nathan, Nicole, Alysha and Great Oma to Thomas. She was a dear sister to Christine, Roger (Pearl), Ray (Shelley), Joey (Marie) and Robert (Brenda) and the late Alton. She will be fondly remembered by the entire Carter Family. Throughout her life, Dorine treasured those closest to her. Her family was her foundation and she will be sadly missed by all those who loved her. A Celebration honouring Dorine’s life will be held at the French Family Funeral Home in Kirkland Lake on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Details to follow at a later date. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the GBHS Southampton Hospital for the amazing care given to our mother. In memoriam donations can be made to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, 340 High St., Southampton, ON N0H 2L0. Dorine and Jim have finally been reunited, and they are doing what they enjoy most!
