Donna Susan Flaxey,

DONNA SUSAN FLAXEY,

2021

Susan Flaxey October 11, 1952 to December 19, 2015It is with deep sadness that we announce Susan’s sudden passing of a heart attack at the age of 63 at the Sudbury Health Science North Hospital with her daughter Carrie and her sister, Brenda, by her side. Susan was predeceased by her parents Dolores (Wilberforce) and Emerson Stinson. She is survived by her husband Ron and was a loving mother to daughters Randi (Jim) Karstovsky, Carrie (Mark) Thompson and Kelly Flaxey. Susie was a proud Nana and cherished her grandchildren Drew, Dylan, Braden, Ethan, Damian and JaymeLynn. She is also survived by her sister Brenda (Barry) Ryan and had a special bond with Jodi, Darcy, Calvin and Camryn. She will be greatly missed by her life-long friend Valerie Martell, Uncle Glen and Aunt Eileen Wilberforce, and Aunt Lena Wilberforce as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Susan was born and raised in Kirkland Lake and moved to Toronto where she raised her family. She worked as a waitress for many years at the Colony restaurant in the Don Mills area where she was considered family to the owners, staff and patrons. She loved spending time with her family and was also a regular at the local bingo hall when time permitted. Susie returned to Kirkland Lake five years ago to help with her ailing Mother who passed away in January of 2014. Susan enjoyed many visits from her children and grandchildren and loved the semi-annual road trips with Brenda to visit them in the Toronto area. There was always laughter when Susie was present. Susan has been cremated and there will be no funeral as per her wishes. There will be a celebration of life for family and friends this summer, at which time her ashes will be placed with her father, Emerson, at the Kirkland Lake cemetery. We are grateful for the care and friendship she received at the Kirkland And District Hospital Dialysis Unit over the past five years. The staff and patients made her feel like she was part of their extended families. Thanks must also go to the Doctors and medical staff at the Sudbury Health Science North Hospital who did everything they could to prolong her life. Cremation has taken place at FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM. Donations to the Kirkland And District Hospital Dialysis Unit in Susie’s name will be gratefully received.Offer Condolence for the family of Donna Susan Flaxey

Dear Brenda and family, I am so sad to read of the passing of your dear sister Suzie. I always loved to see both of your happy and smiling faces at the Kirkland Lake Girls Luncheon. Suzie brought a lot of fun to our gatherings. I am sure you have a huge hole in your heart but I hope that you fill that hole with all the happy memories and joy Suzie brought to all your lives. Thinking of you all and sending you love and prayers today and always Cecile
