1933 - 2014

In loving memory of Mr. Richard “Dick” Pollock, who after a brave and courageous battle with cancer lost his fight on January 25th, 2014 at the age of 80 at the Timiskaming Hospital. Dick was born in Englehart into the forest industry and at a young age became extremely involved in the family business, Wm. Pollock & Sons. Dick went on to become General Manager of Wm. Pollock & Sons stores for over 40 years. The love of his life was his cattle! Dick raised and sold registered Polled Herefords throughout Ontario and Quebec. He also tested bulls at the New Liskeard test station for many years. He was a proud member of the Ontario Hereford Association for over 50 years. Dick was the Deputy Reeve of Chamberlain Township and sat on the Timiskaming Board of Health, Police Commission Board, Earlton-Timiskaming Regional Airport Municipal Services Board and TMA Committee. Pre-deceased by his parents Clayton and Alberta Pollock; and his first wife June Idella Brown (Pollock). He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, June Rose Marie Pollock, daughter Debra Blount (Chris), daughter Nancy Bond (Keith), step-son David Wagner (Kellie), step-son Charlie Wagner (Tracy), sister Donna Beasley, loving grandfather to Jason Bond (Lisa), Christina MacPherson (Dan), Angela Roy (Steve), Isaac Blount (Emma), Sam Blount, Emily Blount (Brendan), David Jr. Wagner, Rebecca Wagner, Nikole LaFlamme, Logan Wagner, Peyton Wagner, Raven Mailes and loving great grandfather to nine children. The family of the late Mr. Pollock will receive friends at McDonald’s Funeral Home, Englehart, Friday, January 31st, 2014 from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at 11 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Englehart, officiating is Pastor Stephen Wuerch. In memory contributions to Wheelchair Bus Fund Biker`s Reunion will be greatly appreciated. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.mcdonaldfuneralhome.ca.
