Obituary of Diane (Plante) Ménard
In loving memory of Diane Ménard, who passed away surrounded by her family at the CHUM in Montréal,
Québec on Thursday June 8, 2023.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Emile and Yolande Plante and her sisters Lise and Marie. She will be
sadly missed by her husband Robert Ménard, her sons Daniel (Manon) and Marc (Megan), her precious
grandsons Yanick (Kayla) and Emile, her sisters Lorraine Plante and Micheline Plante, her brothers Michel
Plante (Pam) and Denis Plante (Darlene), her two sisters-in law, many aunts, uncles, cousins and very special
nieces and nephews.
As a child, Diane loved the outdoors and you would often find her with the animals on our farm in Uno Park.
She was quite the little country girl following her Dad everywhere on the farm. She was a sweet sixteen going
on seventeen when our family (Emile Plante’s family) moved to New Liskeard in 1970. It was during that time
that Diane met her future husband Bobby. The love birds dated for a few years and were married on August
24, 1974. They moved to Val d’Or, Québec to start their family, then to Malartic later on.
Diane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved to cook for her family. She was famous in the
family for her Christmas baking. Her tourtières were the best tourtières in the world.
She lived a good life! She will remain in our hearts forever.
