Surrounded by love, Clara Plante died peacefully on June 18, 2011, at the Temiskaming Hospital. She was in her eighty-seventh year. She was predeceased by, and was the beloved wife of, Maurice Plante. She was also predeceased by her parents Wilfrid Godmaire Sr. and Clothilde Brazeau, brothers Paul, Maurice, Emanuel, Wilfrid Jr. and Emile and sisters Cécile (Gérard) Duhamel, Amanda (Jean) Chartrand and Marie-Anna Godmaire. Mrs. Plante is survived by, and was the cherished mother of, Pauline (Roger Boucher), Edouard (Marie-Claire Beaudry), Richard (Julie LaPlante), Angeline (Paul Breault), Céline (Jean Rivard), Joanne (Louis Ethier), Marcel (Lise Rivard), all from Temiskaming Shores, Madeleine (Maurice Lavergne) of Timmins, Georgette Plante and Sylvie (Peter Follett) of North Bay. She was also a wonderful "memere" to 32 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Plante is also survived by her sister Eva Breault and in-laws Rolande Godmaire, Fernande Plante, Emile Plante, Léa (Edouard) Blain, Aurèle (Jacqueline) Plante, Raymond (Germaine) Plante, Mariette (Roger) Hubert, all from Temiskaming Shores, and Lucien (Rita) Plante of Chelmsford, Adrien (Jeannine) Plante of North Bay, André (Rose-Alice) Plante of Vernon, British Columbia, and Annette (Aurel) Ducharme of Verner. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends. She had a life well-lived and loved singing, cooking, knitting and babysitting. The family said they were truly blessed to have had her in their lives. They extended a special thanks to the nursing staff of the LTC at the Temiskaming Hospital, especially to nurse "La belle Debbie." The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel and a funeral mass was celebrated on June 22 at Eglise Sacré Coeur by Father Richard Ngoy. Interment was at the New Liskeard Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Richard and Marcel, grandchildren Chico Plante, Shae Lea Goudreault, Félix Benoit, Christian Plante, Stéphane Plante and Marco Boucher. Relatives and friends attending the service came from Vernon, Calgary, Sussex (Wisconsin), Gatineau, Rouyn-Noranda and Témiscamingue, Quebec, Ottawa, Kingston, London, Newmarket, Orangeville, Kapuskasing, Timmins, Chelmsford, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Larder Lake. Elle quitte également sa soeur Eva Breault, beaux-frères et belles-soeurs Rolande Godmaire, Fernande Plante, Emile Plante, Léa (Edouard Blain), Aurèle (Jacqueline) Plante, Raymond (Germaine) Plante de Temiskaming Shores et Mariette (Roger) Hubert de Temiskaming Shores, et Lucien (Rita) Plante de Chelmsford, Adrien (Jeannine) Plante de North Bay, André (Rose-Alice) Plante de Vernon, British Columbia, et Annette (Aurel) Ducharme of Verner. Aussi son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses nombreux neveux et nièces. Elle fut précédée par ses parents: Wilfrid Godmaire (Sr.) et Clothilde Brazeau, ses soeurs Cécile (Gérard) Duhamel, Amanda (Jean) Chartrand, Marie-Anna Godmaire, ses frères Paul, Maurice, Emanuel, Wilfrid (Jr.) et Emile. Clara aimait la vie aussi chanter, cuisiner, jardiner, tricoter et garder les enfants. Pour elle, TOUT était beau. La famille a reçu parents et amis au salon funéraire Perrin de New Liskeard et la messe aux funérailles fut célébrée par Richard Ngoy curé, en l'église Sacré-Coeur de New Liskeard, le 22 juin, 2011. L'inhumation a suivi au cimetière catholique de New Liskeard. Les porteurs étaient ses fils Richard et Marcel de New Liskeard et ses petits-enfants Chico Plante (New Liskeard), Shae Lea Goudreault (Orangeville), Félix Benoit (Calgary), Christian Plante (Newmarket), Stéphane Plante (London) et Marco Boucher (Sussex, Wisconsin).
