CLARA MATHIAS,

Mrs. Clara Mathias passed away on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Kirkland & District Hospital. Clara was predeceased by her husband Isaac Mathias; daughter Agnes Mathias; her nephew Chief Roy Meaniss; her sister Jean MicMac and Margaret Chie Chie. She is survived by her longtime friend Joe Thivierge and by her great nephew Chris (Lorna) Meaniss, niece Emmaline (Glen) MacPherson and step grandson Ernie (Angela) Chie Chie and his children Gracie, Gabrielle, Isaiah Chie Chie and Nisa Pitremont as well as extended family. The family of Clara Mathias will receive friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Father Wayne Mills officiating. Clara will be laid to rest at the Beaverhouse First Nation Cemetery in the spring of 2010.
