Cherryl Blackburn died Tuesday, May 17 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Englehart December 18, 1945 to Eugene and Inez Wells. Educated in Englehart, she worked as a secretary, clerk, clothes saleswoman, and a fulltime mom. Family and friends remember her as a beautiful, wonderful, caring woman who loved family most of all. She also enjoyed pleasing everyone. She loved to fish with her dad, and to play music and sing with her families. She enjoyed gardening and planting beautiful flowers. She was a member of the United Church. She married Robert Blackburn in Englehart February 6, 1965. She is survived by her husband Bob Blackburn, son Robert Blackburn and Trisha, daughter Lisa and Darrin, father Eugene Wells, brother Greg Wells and Joanne, grandchildren Christopher, Shawn, Amanda, Kendra, Kelsey, Ashley, Amber and Jordan, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Blackburn was predeceased by her son Jeffrey, mother Inez Wells, and sister Wendy Blackburn. The funeral service was held Saturday, May 21 at the United Church in Englehart, with the service conducted by Reverend Jessica Cottrell. Pallbearers were Malcolm Bond, Christopher and Shawn Blackburn, Phillip Church, and Doug and Murray Blackburn. Honourary pallbearers were Dale Church and Mike Fawcett. Attending the service were relatives and friends from Belleville, Bracebridge, Barrie, Toronto, North Bay, Kirkland Lake, Hamner, and Port Perry. Burial is at the Englehart Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart. In memory contributions may be made to the Englehart Hospital Clinic Expansion or a charity of your choice.
