CORLEY, Chauncey

1951 - 2020

Chauncey Eric Corley passed away at home on Monday, July 20th 2020 at the age of 68. Chauncey was a wonderful husband to Ingrid, a very proud father of Jonathan (Morgan Gallagher), and “Bampa” to little Chauncey and Patrick (Paddy). He was also a proud “special uncle” to Marney and her family Matthew, Mackenzie, and Makayla Muncaster. At a young age Chauncey joined the railway family at the O.N.R. He initially started in the yard office then moved to Brakeman /Conductor. In 2004 he retired from the ONR and was then able to pursue his passion as a full time farmer. Chauncey and Jonathan worked side by side on the farm, with Jonathan quickly understanding how much work Dad really did. One of Chauncey’s most rewarding time on the farm was calving time. Actually each season on the farm brought him special joys. Chauncey also spent a brief time as a municipal councillor for Charlton and Dack township. Chauncey was the 3rd of 7 children born to Eric and Jaqueline Corley. Brother to Maureen (Jim dec), Ingrid dec, Lynn (Cecil), Erica, Tim (Debbie), Tammy (Bruce dec). Brother in- law to Linda (Ken), Irene (Eric), George (Beth), and Mark (Nancy). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, many of whom have always been an important part of his life. A private family service will be held at home on the farm. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Northeast Cancer in Sudbury where the Doctors and staff were so considerate and kind to Chauncey and his family, or a charity of your choice in his memory. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left below..
