It is with deep sadness that we announce Charlie’s passing at the Teck Pioneer Residence on Thursday, June 17, 2010 with family at his side. Charlie was born in Deseronto to the late Margaret and Duncan McGill. He served in the Canadian Forces from 1939 to 1945 and later became a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 as a Veteran of World War II. Charlie was predeceased by his beloved spouse Rosina “Rose” McGill (nee Smith); sisters Margaret and Betty and brothers Colin, Jim, Hubert, John, Bill and Edward. Charlie will be dearly missed by his children Robert and his wife Debra, Brian and his wife Linda and Clifford and his wife Colleen; grandchildren Carey Ann, Rachael, Ashley, Sherri (Terri), Brian (Tara), Shauna, Kristina and precious great grandchildren Shantel, Shelby, Savanna, Shaye, Alexander, Lauren, Abigail, Lucas, Colby, Olivia and Carter. He will be fondly remembered by extended grandchildren, Mark (Angie), Matt, Jake and Gino; and dearly missed by his sisters Shirley Lefebvre and Frances Page; sister in law Mary McGill and extended family. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Legion Memorial Service at 7:15 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Monette & French Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Charlie will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 87 (P.O. Box 323 Kirkland Lake, ON. P2N 3H7).Offer Condolence for the family of Charles McGill
