WHALEN, Cecilia

Cecilia Alexandria Whalen Cecilia Alexandria Whalen died on October 31, 2010, at the Temiskaming Hospital. She was in her ninety-fourth year. Mrs. Whalen, born September 22, 1917, was predeceased by her husband Clifford (Mac) Whalen and daughter Fay Brule of Cold Lake, Alberta. She is survived by her daughter Joy Kulyk of Edmonton, Alberta and son Bruce Whalen and his wife Deb of Port Elgin, Ontario; grandchildren Susan, Lana, Jennifer, April, Tracy, Scott, Tony, Sylvia, and Ivan; great-grandchildren Dakota, Logan, Joey, Daniel, Christopher, Shawn, Taylor, Stirling, Andrew, Tara Lee, Mckayla, Olivia, Avery, and Piper; and great-great-grandchildren Colin, Kaila, Aden, Kai, Mason, Malihia, and Taylor Jade. Mrs. Whalen was one of 10 children (five sisters and five brothers) and she was predeceased by all except one sister Nelda and one brother Bruce. Mrs. Whalen was active in both her church and her community and was a beloved wife and dearly loved mother. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5, at the First Baptist Church in New Liskeard at 1 p.m. conducted by the Reverend Robert McCarty. Interment to follow at the Valleyview section of the New Liskeard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Temiskaming Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
