Catherine (King) Godin On February 23, 2010, Catherine Godin of North Cobalt died at the Temiskaming Hospital. She had been recently ill with a heart condition. She was born in Notre Dame du Nord, Quebec, on August 3, 1919, to Alexander King and Bella McLaren. She married Edouard Godin in Notre Dame du Nord on July 10, 1939, and moved to New Liskeard in 1956. Mrs. Godin, a member of Sacré Coeur Catholic Church, was a homemaker and mother of 15 children. Her family was her greatest joy and love. She is survived by her children Raymond (Huggette), Alcide (Paulette), Armand (Simone), Yvette (Gary), Yvonne, Jacqueline (Mike), Noella (Guy) and Mike (Donna). Mrs. Godin was predeceased by her husband on October 11, 1983, and by her children Aline, Laurier, Paul, Marcel, Edgar, Yvon and Jacques; brothers John and Joseph; and sisters Agnes, Jessie and Bertha. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard with the service conducted by Father John Lemire. Cremation has taken place with burial to follow in the spring. Relatives and friends attending the service from out of town came from Port Hope, Notre Dame du Nord, Marathon, Oshawa, North Bay, Saskatoon, Grande Prairie, Temiskaming Shores, Temiskaming, Quebec, Virginiatown and Nepean.
