With sadness, we must announce the passing of Carl William Welsh on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the age of 76 years. Avid fisherman and hunter; love for antique cars; always up for a challenging debate with his coffee club buddies. Carl was predeceased by his mother Martha Welsh, his father Henry (Seth) Welsh, his wife Catherine Welsh and his great nephew Hunter Lawson. He is survived by his daughters Sharon (Reg) Fournier of Kirkland Lake and Cindy Welsh of Timmins along with his grandchildren Michael Fournier, Mandy (Thomas) Crawford, Kimberley (Matthew) Thom, Kristopher Fournier and one great granddaughter Ava Crawford. He leaves behind his siblings Nora (Whitford) Piche of Paris, June Welsh-Livingstone of Hamilton, Lynn (Raymond) Lawson of Bowmanville, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his new love and companion Margo Lafrance. The family will welcome friends at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME (111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3L1) on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from the Chapel of the French Family Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. with refreshments to follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near we hold each memory oh so dear. Forever remembered, forever missed but we will always be able to reminisce. For now we’ll just say see you soon and promise to meet again some afternoon. RIP Uncle Carl. Here’s hoping that you and grandpa are enjoying your leisurely paddle around the lake in the canoe.
