We were so sad to hear the news concerning Basil. He was always such an interesting and likeable individual. Many good memories from when he drove the various KLCVI football and other athletic teams around the north! Everyone liked him.

Please accept our condolences in your loss of a great man, Basil. I appreciated Basil so much during all the years he worked for us. He was always pleasant, honest, and had a cheerful word for everyone. He was able to fulfil any task asked of him. It was an honour to have known Basil.

To the McMillan family
This comes as a great surprise and brings back many childhood memories. Basil was my school bus driver for a couple of years back in the 1970s. I had no idea of what he had become and that he had lived up until now!
Please allow me to express my deepest condolences to the McMillan family. May Basil rest in peace and I am truly sorry for your loss.

Condolences Cathy and family. Basil was my bus driver from 69 to 73, his patience was amazing and probably more than we deserved. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to read of the passing of Mr. McMillan. He was the best bus driver of all times. He was always so kind and friendly, never cranky with a busload of noisy kids. A fine person. Even after us kids were all grown up he would always remember us and have a hello and a smile whenever you met him anywhere in town. I hope he had a good life and will now meet up with his wife and Joe who was also a very nice guy. Rest in peace Basil.

Having grown up hanging out at the bus station with my dad, Basil was always around. I've always had fond memories of him. I recall one year our pet bird 'blue birdy' went to the farm to live with Basil.
Sorry to hear of his passing but reading the comments of others he lived the rest of his life as I remembered him kind and gentle. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Basil’s passing. I have fond memories of working with Basil each summer in the bus garage throughout my youth. He always had a smile, an easy laugh and oh singing along with Waylon Jennings songs !
