Audrey grew up on a farm on Tower Drive in North Bay where she started milking cows by the age of 6. She was educated in a one room school house. Audrey started working as a waitress on the dining car for the ONR. She moved to New Liskeard in 1970 where she cooked at many different places including the Grand Union, the Agricultural College and Gisele’s Catering. Audrey was known to be a very kind and loving person, she was always the first to help anyone in need and she was an amazing cook and host. Her butter tarts were famous. She volunteered for many years cooking breakfast for the men at the New Liskeard Golf Club and received her 15 year pin canvassing door to door for the Canadian Cancer Society. Even in her last years living at the lodge she was always willing to help out with clearing dishes from tables in the dinning hall and bringing other residents for meals and events so much so she was awarded the Citizen of the Year award at the Lodge in 2017.
