I offer my condolences and prayers during this time of sorrow. Andy was a man off many trades and a true gentlemen. It was always such a pleasure to spend time talking with Andy.
It's hard not to smile when you think of Andy's life. For many years Andy was like another grandpa to me. I spent many hours at their home on sleepovers with Kevin and hanging out with Cathy and Mike. Sherren was ever present as a babysitter, piano teacher, and surrogate big sister. I have so many memories of the Poupore house crammed with people singing, playing crokinole and sitting in the livingroom, which always spilled over into the dining room and kitchen listening to stories of life in Milberta in the early years. On weekends when I would sleep over I used to love the smell of Andy's bacon and egg breakfasts that would waft down the basement stairs into the rec-room where we'd be flopped out in sleeping bags.
Andy was a yes man! Can I go for a ride in the milk truck? Yes. Can I go for a ride in the VW as you did your rounds with United Breeders? Yes ( but you have to sit in the back seat! The front passenger seat has the liquid nitrogen tank strapped to the floor)
Any filled Milberta church every Sunday with song. He would stand up as the service was about to start, turn to face everyone from the front just ahead of the alter with a hymn book in his hand. He'd look over at Sherren and give her a nod as if to say, "It's time!" The Piano would begin and Andy would start to sing. How could you NOT sing with him? When we'd get to the chorus Andy would holler "sing!!" and everyone in church would sing the chorus at the top of their lungs.
Andy, you were larger than life and filled so many lives with joy. I'll always love you for how you loved my two children. You were a special gift to the world. Keep singing and keep smiling on us all.
My sincere sympathy on the loss of Andy

My condolences to the family on your loss.
I've only met Dot and Andy a few times. I have a happy memory of him explaining something to me about ewes. I'm a city boy... no idea of what he spoke. In fact, I think he was pronouncing ewes as something like "yuhs" so I didn't even know we were talking sheep through half of it but I remember we were laughing hard all the way through. Welcoming, easy to get along with, fun to be around.
My deepest sympathies to you all! I have memories of Andy that go back to my childhood of him at the Kerns Lions Christmas parties starting Christmas sing a longs. The Steam Show wouldn't of ever been the same without him. More recently prior to Covid I ran into him at the Muskoka Pioneer and Antique Show...and it took me back to my childhood at the steam shows, he hadn't changed one bit!!!
Thoughts and prayers to you all during this most difficult time.

So sorry for your loss. I have many memories at both Milberta and Hillview with Andy up at the front leading us in song, Sherran on the piano. He could make any gathering worthy of a "Sister Act" performance, the way he belted out the hymns and moved around! He always seemed larger-than-life and had such an infectious laugh. He will be missed.
My deepest sympathy to the Poupore family in the passing of one of the most jovial, exuberant individuals I have had the pleasure of knowing whether through community activityes, Fall Fairs, Earlton Steam and Antique Club.
