1930 - 2016

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Alice Berthiaume at the Temiskaming Lodge on Thursday April 14, 2016 at the age of 86. Alice was the fourteenth child of Georges and Emelda Bussière, born on April 13, 1930 in Génier near Cochrane, ON. She was married to Hervé Berthiaume on October 6, 1948 and enjoyed a wonderful partnership with him for 52 years. They lived in Cochrane until 1980 when they moved to Trenton, ON. There, they led an active social life, playing cards, dancing, travelling and enjoying all their new friends. Alice was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 60 years, a member of the Sergeants Mess at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, and a Canadian Blood Services volunteer, as well as volunteering wherever she could give a helping hand. She was known for her warm, welcoming home as well as her positive outlook on life. Surviving are her daughter Lise (André) Renaud, her grandchildren Jimmie (Jennifer) Berthiaume, Victor Berthiaume, Craig (Megan) Berthiaume, Raymond Vincent (Kelly) Berthiaume, Chantal (Chris) Wells, Marc (Dana) Renaud, Nicole (Karl Reid) Renaud, as well as 12 great grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family members as well as her cherished friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Hervé (2000), her son Raymond (2014), and her six sisters and eight brothers. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 am from Église Sacré Coeur in New Liskeard. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at the Génier Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada, the Arthritis Society or the Alzheimer Society will be greatfully acknowledged.
