2021

Fred Gemus (January 29, 1931 – July 3, 2012) – On July 3, 2012, Fred passed away peacefully at the Kirkland & District Hospital. Fred is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter’s Donna (Darren) Landry of Matachewan, Victoria Sanders of Bowmanville and Tammy Sanders of Georgetown. Three grandchildren Trevor Pullen of Kirkland Lake, Stephanie Pullen and Dan Stefanich of Port Elgin, Joshua Landry of Matachewan and soon to arrive great-grandchild of Stephanie and Dan. Fred is also survived by his siblings Daniel (Lucille) of Sudbury, Jay (Angela) of Burlington, Marie (Bob) Godin of Sudbury and Michelle Menard of Latchford. Fred will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and his brothers of the IBEW local 1687. Special mention to Larry Lineham for all his help over the past few years and to his exceptional brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Anita Goulden and their family. Fred, a Construction Electrician, was a proud member of the IBEW Local 1687 for over 50 years. He would often recant stories of his jobs throughout the provinces, but the ones he enjoyed the most were of the lifelong friends he made while working in the Northern Ontario communities. At Fred’s request, cremation occurred immediately following his passing. In keeping with his wishes, an informal memorial service will be held September 22, 2012. With Fred’s strong beliefs in family and children we ask that donations be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, C.J.K.L. Christmas Wish Program or to a charity of your choice. We will miss the mischievous glint in your eyes and the devilish things you would say.Offer Condolence for the family of Alfred Gemus
