Peacefully at the age of 82, on March 29th, 2012 surrounded by his family at the Kirkland & District Hospital. Alex was born on January 20, 1930. He was the loving and devoted husband to Doris Glembus for 63 years. Wonderful father to Brenda (née Glembus) Sabourin and to Gary (JoAnne Jenson) Glembus. Number 1 Grandpa to Mandy and Lisa Glembus and Kyle and Kayla Sabourin. He is survived by his brother Bill (Eleanore) Glembus of Iroquois Falls. Alex has rejoined his parents Mary and Andy Glembus as well as his sister Margaret (late Joe) Kacur. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many special friends who dearly loved him. Alex worked at the Sylvanite and Adams Mines for over 25 years as a mechanic and welder. One would often see him at the J&L Hall working years ago. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage with his grandkids and enjoyed working, doing handyman work around the house. He will be treasured in our hearts forever. Family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Donations in Alex’s memory may be made to the Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation (145 Government Road East, Box 3000, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3P4) or to the Sick Kids Foundation (525 University Avenue, 14th floor, Toronto, ON., M5G2L3).Offer Condolence for the family of Alexander Glembus
