I am sorry to read of Mr. Akulick’s passing. I always enjoyed his wit. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

1937 - 2023
AKULICK, Alec Luke – surrounded by family, Alec passed away peacefully on Thursday September 28, 2023 at 86 years of age.
Predeceased by his father Paul, mother Annie and his siblings Mary, Lilliane (Edward) Zolot and Bill.
Alec will be lovingly remembered by his wife Geneva (nee Scott), son Hal (Barbara), son Casey (Rose), daughter Cathy (Stephen) Garland, sister-in-law Marlyn (Jack) Ducharme, brother-in-law Glenn (Tina) Scott and niece Laurie (Brett) Hilton. Alec’s legacy and memories will be cherished by his grandchildren, Alex, Kyle, Samantha, Ryan, Stephanie, Alexander and Jessica and his two great granddaughters Brooklyn and Stella.
Alec’s contribution to the community through his teaching at KLCVI, work at Heath & Sherwood and his never-ending desire to help friends, family and everyone. He will be missed by all.
Special thanks to Kirkland Lake Hospital.
In keeping with his wishes, a private burial will take place in the spring.

We were saddened to read of Alec's death. A good friend to many and well respected in Kirkland Lake and the Wavell area. We are so glad that our brother-in-law, Norm, and Alec got together and talked old times last week. Warmest regards to the family.

Mr. Akulick I was one of the nicest, kindest, and genuine soul that I got the privilege to meet.
Mr. Akulick always had a smile on his face, and was able to see the good in everything. I will forever remember Mr. Akulick as an Angel and he will be forever in our hearts.

I was very sorry to receive the news of Aleck’s death. He and I attended KLCVI at the same time and later were on staff together for many years . He was a wonderful teacher and major contributor to what was one of the best technical departments in the province! He was always good natured, level headed, and so well respected by his students and the staff.

It is with extreme respect and thoughts that we give to you and your family regarding the passing away of Alec (husband, father, and great teacher). You and Alec have been great friends throughout the years to both of us. Those thoughts of the past are undeniably set in our minds. Our prayers are with you. We are so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Aulick was my Welding teacher at KLCVI back in the 1980's when I was a student then. He was patient and professional, and as a result i learned how to be a pretty good welder. He was a hell of a nice guy.
